An Italian Trattoria in Laureles, Medellín
Pane e Pomodoro is a family-run Italian restaurant in Laureles, open since 2017. Chef Giancarlo Mazzarino grew up in southern Italy, on his grandparents’ farm, and trained at Scuola Alma before bringing those recipes to Medellín. Everything here starts from scratch: the pasta is rolled by hand every morning, the pizza dough ferments for 48 hours, and the prosciutto, guanciale and salsiccia are cured in our own facility with locally raised Sampedreño pork.

What We Are Known For
Neapolitan Pizza
Long-fermented dough baked at high temperature, 30 cm, cut into six slices. Our Pizza Master won the 2025 competition with house-cured guanciale and burrata stracciatella.
Fresh Pasta, Made by Hand
Rolled and cut every morning. The carbonara is made with egg, guanciale and pecorino — no cream, ever. The ragù cooks five hours before it reaches your tagliatelle.
Our Own Charcuterie
Prosciutto, guanciale, coppa, salsiccia and culatello, all cured in house. Order the charcuterie board to taste them, and take home whatever you like by weight.
Southern Italian Classics
Chicken parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, ossobuco braised in red wine, polpette alla pizzaiola. The food people actually eat in Italy, not the tourist version.

We are a small neighbourhood trattoria, not a large restaurant. A few things visitors usually ask:

We open at noon every day, so lunch is always an option. The kitchen gets busy between 7:00 and 9:00 pm on weekends — come earlier or book a table.
We are in Laureles, a short walk from Estadio and close to El Teatrico. If you are staying in Laureles or Estadio, you can walk here. From El Poblado it is about a 15 minute taxi ride.
